Education is a process by which a pursuer learns the essence of a subject essential to understand different dimensions and facets of life. It is
a course of action under which a person receives the body of knowledge
necessary to survive in the world. However, learning a skill through education
does not make a person enlightened. Becoming expert in a particular field or by
acquiring bachelors, masters, doctoral or professional degrees, one may not
become an intelligent or enlightened person; especially if the person is still suffering from common human ills and sub-standard mental qualities such as ego, anger, hatred, greed, vanity and selfishness.
Higher education provides a body of knowledge but enlightenment comes by understanding the essence and spirit of life and not from the superficiality of the knowledge. Besides understanding life and the world, enlightenment makes a person humble, kind, tolerant, magnanimous and benevolent. Therefore if a person is not enlightened but holds a master, doctoral or professional degree then logically that person cannot be termed as an educated person.

University degree is one of the
yardsticks to measure that a person has the body of knowledge and expertise in specific subject. However,
human intelligence, ingenuity and competency is not bound by the limitations of
university degree. For example - one of the top industrialists of India late
Dhirubhai Ambani was a matriculate and his intelligence and skills were no less
than any university graduate. In fact it was a matter of pride for the so called graduates and post graduates from prestigious educational institutions to work for him and his companies.
Unfortunately degree holding buffoons have outnumbered educated,
virtuous and enlightened people in India. Congress government in their sixty
years of rule, have promoted flatterer, sycophants, miscreants, corrupt and
mentally bankrupt loud mouths like Digvijay Singh, Mani Shankar Aiyer, and Ajay
Maken. They do not talk about educational backgrounds of their leaders
under whom they have flourished and became arrogant and blabber mouth. These so
called educated and elite people in society have scourged India for decades by
adulation to their incapable and corrupt masters. They are one of the buffoons
that our modern education system and prestigious educational institutions have produced.
Ajay Maken, in his vanity forgot that Smriti Irani may not have
the university degree but she is much more knowledgeable and enlightened than
him. She has already demonstrated her skills and intelligence through various
interviews and public debates over a period of time. These congressmen have quickly
forgotten that their leaders are themselves not so educated and still they manipulated the bunch of high class degree holders for decades.
In comparison to them Smriti Irani is much taller in her stature
and she has earned the position with her intelligence and hard work and not by flattery and sycophancy. I am sure in a televised debate, Smiriti Irani can
make Ajay Maken run for his knowledge and education which he boasts about. Somebody has rightly commented on the news article: "by loading a donkey with books do not make him a scholar".
I have
described in detail about the characteristics of people like him in one of my
articles called “Philosophy of Education” posted on my blog called Eternal Feelings: www.sssinha.blogspot.ca.
