(An Accomplished Fact)
The
resounding victory of Mr. Narendra Damodardas
Modi in the recent parliamentary
election was a fait accompli and
beyond the imagination of political pundits and bigwigs of decomposed political
ancestry ruling India for years by deceit.
His ascend to the political pinnacle has proven the power of benevolence over the malevolence. Throughout the election campaign, his interviews
and impromptu speeches having the tints of simplicity, magnanimity, compassion
and clemency has not only stolen the hearts of millions but also magnified his
stature manifolds.
His meteoric rise to
the power is not a coincidence by default but the grand design of the cosmic
munificence to save people of India from the continuous onslaught of deceptive
governance. This proves that trouncing of malefic forces is not possible by
people with ordinary humanly qualities, and neither is it possible by the so-called convent
educated confused people sitting in power to understand the intricacies of the
celestial designs.
If we look into the
background of Mr. Narendra Modi, then it is baffling that how a person having
education from an average Gujarati school in Vadnagar and master's degree in
political science from Gujarat University through Distance Education, can
become the master orator, administrator and a champion of human psyche and
empathy par excellence. His style of
managing the state of Gujarat as its Chief Minister has proved him as master of
all business managers. This also proves that by studying management or
engineering from prestigious universities or by speaking good English does not
make a person nice and capable human being. It is the will power and strong desire
to serve with the understanding of human emotions that makes a person educated
and enlightened - not by having hotshot degrees from prestigious educational institutions.
It is the purity of mind, strong personal character, belief in die-hard ideology, honest approach and
thinking beyond self that makes a person unique and one in billion like
Narendra Modi. Similarly, extraordinary people like Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham
Lincoln, and Nelson Mandela all had the qualities of benevolence, forgiving,
magnanimity together with spiritual understanding of life. The irony is that the majority
of our so-called educated (degree holders) people in society do not know how to
be forgiving, forbearing, and compassionate. They have learned to serve
themselves for their own betterment but they have not learned how to make other people's lives better.
Unfortunately, it is the major flaw of the western education system which has
produced survivors more than the saviors.
In Mr. Narendra Modi, I
see the spirit of Swami Vivekananda who had the vision of future India leading
towards peace and prosperity. Like Swami Vivekananda, Mr. Narendra Modi has
also spent his life in sanctity and poverty, selling tea at Vadnagar railway
station, wandering in the Himalayas and by living the life of a hermit, practising 'Brahmacharya' (celibacy)
by renouncing his childhood marriage. He is also an ardent follower of the
teachings of Swami Vivekananda and his ideals. Before becoming the Chief
Minister of Gujarat in the year 2001, his qualities were unknown to the world.
This is the reason that logically it is not possible for an ordinary person of
his background without the presence of divinity, suddenly emerging as a saviour
of his state first then the nation by trouncing his powerful adversaries all
around him, and mesmerizing the nation of 1.25 billion by getting their mandate
in unison to govern India.
Therefore, those who
believe in the teachings and philosophies of Swami Vivekananda and project
themselves as champions in spiritualism should never forget that spiritualism
alone cannot help in the makings of our future life better. We have to carry on
the essence of Swami ji's message by actively participating in worldly affairs for
the betterment of people and in the making of a glorious India as envisioned by
Swami Vivekananda.
I take the opportunity of conveying the message of Swami
Vivekananda while India's history is being re-written by quoting his words:
"India's
message is that calm goodness, patience, and gentleness will ultimately
triumph. For where are the Greeks, the one-time masters of the earth? They are
gone. Where are the Romans, at the tramp of whose cohorts the world trembled?
Passed away. Where are the Arabs, who in fifty years had carried their banners
from the Atlantic to the Pacific? And where are the Spaniards, the cruel murderers of millions of men?
"Let the Persian or the Greek, the Roman, the Arab, or the
Englishman march his battalions, conquer the world, and link the different
nations together, and the philosophy and spirituality of India is ever ready to
flow along the new-made channels into the veins of the nations of the world.
The Hindu's calm brain must pour out its own quota to give to the sum total of
human progress. India's gift to the world is the light spiritual. "
"The
whole world requires Light," he wrote to Alasinga at the end of August.
"It is expectant! India alone has that Light, not in magic, mummeries and
charlatanism, but in the teaching of the glories of the spirit, of real
'religion---of the highest spiritual truth. That is why the Lord has preserved
the race through all its vicissitudes unto the present day. Now the time has
come."
Defining
his concept of new India, he said, "
...let New India arise...--out of the peasants' cottage, grasping the plough;
out of the huts of the fisherman, the cobbler, and the sweeper. Let her spring
from the grocer's shop, from beside the oven of the fritter-seller. Let her
emanate from the factory, from marts, and from markets. Let her emerge from
groves and forests, from hills and mountains. These common people have suffered
oppression for thousands of years--suffered it without murmur, and as a result
have got wonderful fortitude. They have suffered eternal misery, which has
given them unflinching vitality. Living on a handful of grain, they can
convulse the world; give them only half a piece of bread, and the whole world
will not be big enough to contain their energy; they are endowed with the
inexhaustible vitality of a Raktabija.
"And, besides, they have got the wonderful strength that comes of a
pure and moral life, which is not to be found anywhere else in the world. Such
peacefulness, such contentment, such love, such power of silent and incessant
work, and such manifestation of lion's strength in times of action--where else
will you find these!"
Think
about the above words of Swami Vivekananda after shunning your ego, pride, anger,
hatred and jealousy with peace and tranquillity in your mind and you will
understand the message I am trying to convey to all Indians living in India or
abroad.

Bharat and long live Modi,
